Statistics on dieting have shown a mixed bag of results. Dieting statistics have shown a lot of different results. Some are positive and some are negative.

There have been studies that show the dieting does not lead to weight loss in the long term. Some studies have shown that dieting can even lead to weight gain. It all depends on the study.

The dieting industry which consists of diet centers, diet programs, group and individual weight loss, diet camps, prepackaged dieting foods, dieting drugs, weight loss books, weight loss magazines, exercise clubs, lose weight programs and much more is a multi billion dollar industry exceeding 50 billion. This industry is growing every year as more and more people want to lose weight.

Say for instance there are 50 million people on this world that want to lose weight and everyone of them use 1000 dollars every year on achieving their weight loss goal, then we have a 50 billion dollar industry. It is not hard to see why the industry is so big. Everyone wants to look slim and they are willing to pay hundreds and even thousands for it every year.

It was concluded in 2006 that over 72 million dieters existed in America alone and many were trying different kinds of diets. Imagine what that number has grown to in 2010. Across the entire world, over 100 million people will be dieters of some sort.

The numbers show that the weight loss market is growing by a few percent every year and that people are a lot more health conscience than ever before. More people are willing to go under the knife to shed those kilograms. More diet drugs are being bought and people are trying them to see if they can work for them.

Diet drugs are over a hundred million dollar industry. Many people buy over the counter diet drugs to lose weight and statistic shows that the number of these people are on the rise every year.

Weight watchers is a billion dollar company and many other companies are in the hundred of millions too. There are many weight loss marketers out there and you will see advertisements about weight loss when you turn on the TV everyday.

Health and fitness is vital for everyone. We all want to look good and statistics on dieting have shown that most of us are health conscience. We are bombarded with information everyday and people want to look like celebrities that are thin and sexy.

In conclusion, the statistics on dieting are just facts and figures. If you want to lose weight, then you should stop reading about all the numbers and actually be active and eat healthy foods. We know what we need to do, and we just need to have the dedication to do it.
